Prepare Your POP Experiment ! by Jeff Anello

Creating habits that will create a better you
is a passion that we should aspire toward.

Through building your Passion Statement
How I learned how to engage with others

Especially in those stressful, scary even terrifying  moments just by:

  • Focusing on connecting rather than thinking

  • Building a better relationship with people

  • Providing confidence by being prepared

  • Not shy away and knowing what to say

I was able to mentally, not just physically, be there and make a connection, in that performance, presentation or party. Prepare for your next speech, interview moment, conversation and handshake with a confident and passionate smile!

Experimenting with The POP Presentation Process

This course was used for both of my TED Talks and Clockenflap performances. Which were both Hong Kong’s largest events with over 60, 000 people combined, with my indie band The Anello.

It was at the beginning of the bands start up. I mean like a few months into the new “band”. Remembering both experiences, on massive stages, with the mic in my hand and realising I should engage with our excited audience and just enjoy the moment.

While rocking out I looked up to enjoy that moment looking over the magnificent Hong Kong humans, scanning down across the crowd, and then suddenly I noticed more people watching me in the background.

I thought, let's engage with them too, get them involved, make eye contact, and when I looked back at the audience standing in front me and everyone was having a great time!

So there  I was….. still performing…..with the mic in my hand….. singing a song ( on key hopefully) but back in the moment, rocking out on stage, with all these awesome people. I’ll never know if anyone knew I had that moment. If they did, then I’m happy for that connection.

Each moment in time can be magnified

Once you’ve learned to live in that moment w

hen you communicate that all we are really truly ever looking for, its remarkable!

Oh….but what about *gulp* FEAR!?!?!?!

Fear is described as a  distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain and whether the threat is real or imagined. Being afraid is real but it exists only in the mind.

The fear is thinking about what’s going to happen next, of what does not yet exist. If you’re fear is about non-existing then your fear is 100% imaginary and imagination is a wonderful ability to have to use as an asset.

If you’re suffering non- existence

we call that insanity.

The US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health was doing a study about enhanced fear extinction  in major depressive disorder patients the brain is enhanced synaptic plasticity in the amygdala successful PROVIDE extinction learning, the basis of  exposure therapy.

Scientist Mark Barad of UCLA experiment he and his team combined a noise with an electric shock to the metal floor of the rat's' cage. At that point, their amygdalas paired the sound with the shock, and the sound created a fear response. The researchers then began the process of fear-extinction training. After hearing the sound very often without the shock,

Over time, Fear Habits Minimized

Eventually, the rats stopped fearing the noise.

Neuroplasticity is the brains’ responds to changes in internal and external environments. It's incredible flexibility for forming and eliminating connections.

This is the basis of learning and memory, i.e., how we store new information and retrieve older information."Fact extinction has its own special mechanisms, different than other forms of learning," Barad says.

This study is on the forefront of a cultural revolution to improve the treatment of human anxiety disorders.

Living in the reality of fear

is a tough place to live

It can almost get to a place where mentally it's not worth living this physical life.

Once we confront ourselves to change our life we can then focus on what needs to be done to make that change happen in our present.

I work with so many clients that say to me,

“Jeff, I start passion projects but then quickly lose interest”

“Jeff, there is just no extra money to invest in my passions”

“Jeff, even if I did find my true passion, I don’t have time to live it!”

If you are struggling to become a

fearless passion seeker

than these may be your problems.

“Yes, I know that Jeff, but it doesn’t matter, I won’t push myself to do it”
Each time I reply kindly, “Hey it’s ok, just make a choice A or B?”

A:   Make a Change OR B:   ...................?

Preparation and practice on social communication skills are the best cure for fear. It’s the cure to most public anxiety issues, to be honest, preparation for these social moments is something we all could have started preparing for a long, long time ago. It takes years to become an overnight success.

speed up your progress

presenting just by taking action

Many of my clients, had to discover their passion, understand it mentally and do it physically and if we failed at anything along the way so what…..if we succeed you get all the victory for achieving it because the trick is that if you fail,  you fail in practice with non judgemental eyes. You have only you to do that to yourself.

We are most often our harshest critics and with this process if you look bad, make a mistake, sound weird or awkward, it’s ok !!

Keep doing it - rinse - wash - repeat - and just do it again! Then do it again and again and then you will be a professional performer, presenter and social strategist very soon, or at least sooner than you think.

However, many people don't take action because life seems to get in the way or it’s too tough right now with all the responsibilities or I’m just too scared to fail or possibly succeed.

Are we are really so much afraid of what others are going to say or if they will judge you?

No, way. Let’s live passion today!

Would you like to join the FREE COURSE? I will be accepting 10 Students for The POP Experiment Course in December 2018.

 You can't begin to imagine

So many clients I've worked with that cannot answer this question.

So, I'd like to try and explain, just this one time, with what i think - in rhyme, I believe it is the singer in me that enjoys the melodic rhythm

Now, before we go any further, I must say that at no point in the mini-guide will I encourage you to quit your job, pursue only your dream, and focus on nothing else but passion.

I am just sharing my stories as I was so inclined to become that fool who was willing to make those mistakes, challenged - mocked - laughed at - even punched - and has been willing to fail so many times. I am here to say, through it all, everything is still, ok. I am still living today, by the grace of God, with an even bigger passion than just, living my dream of being a “Rock Star”

So instead of accepting my impending doom like an elephant who is chained to a pole stuck in the ground, who can easily break free. I decided instead to graduated from high school and university, got a job teaching theatre, performance and presentations and have inspired students; who has inspired others as well.

Experiment and Connect

Hello, my name is Jeff Anello.  Experimenting with many things in the past decade...

  • Teaching and performing communication presentations

  • Traveling and touring the world with my indie- band The Anello

  • Crafting courses with clients just like you to "create authentic moments".

Fortunately, years ago I had a passion to be a singer, it took me my whole life to accomplish the goal of being recognised as a singer and yet that goal is still not completed. There is never going to be JUST ONE passionate thing that you need to find and do and then magically once its done everything will be better.

You are a human being who can make their own decisions.

So do not define yourself by your passions, define yourself by your accomplishments and pursuits. The joy comes from doing those things that you love and scheduling a time to do everything your body, mind, and spirit need.

The POP Experiment Course will be launching for selected students. If you are interested to take your passion or professional project to the next level, then join what many clients have created, by taking their passion and making it professional.

Now let’s be honest, making time to pause and play isn't easy.

In fact, the recommendations, exercises and thought provoking insight is just the beginning to your growth. I feel the need to tell you that making big, positive changes in the way you spend quality time with others will probably be one of the most satisfying and most difficult tasks you will ever take on.

How it works:

Step 1: Pause

Step 2: Play

Step 3: Celebrate

Do It To IT // Part 2 by Jeff Anello

Do you feel like every day is mission impossible?

Do you see the vision yourself doing fun activities?

Do you just wish you could find the time to party?

If you answered yes, I know the feeling.

There is really nothing TO IT but to do TO IT what you do.

It seems that I have way too many passions!!

We did many free gigs, as part of our friendly period during the initial phase. Yet, its tough to not get paid.

Otherwise, events that would help us learn to connect with new people would have been a waste of time, money and energy as we learned from past projects.

Time to Meet our Haters

We know that people didn't like what we were doing, as the projects changed we lost the momentum of supporters and had to decide who was our new allies. Who to avoid.

Even surprising enemies that would test our energy and resolve to continue the current project.

This is when the POP Experiment Process was formed.

A practice process needed to occur that was simple and fast to make sure we could connect with the party people. Not as a band but as people.

So we could practice more time on what to do and not just what to play. We took time to pause and figure out how we could play at each event for the time we had to spend on the process.

Fortunately, the collaborators agreed to further the future of the process together.

So prove it! Time to clearly define what that is.

Is it truly important? Then take the next step of actions. For example,

  • Write a Bucket List of passions,

  • Start a Passion or Professional Pros and Cons Plan

  • Commit to Schedule and Finish One Goal

  • Celebrate a Win Each Day

Occasions, where you can find yourself doing what you love doing, are the opportunities that everyone dreams of when they are growing up.

However, it's not the only thing we must focus on, it's not the only thing that matters, love or not - we must be SMART!

There is a time in the future when you will without a doubt be able to say:

This what I love and this is what I want to do

Therein lies the problem.

Goals are great and passions are wonderful but if within that pursuit of a passion we tend to neglect everything else, was it worth it?

If you finally answered yes, then you now know the feeling. So you see, there really is nothing TO IT but to do TO IT what you do.

Take Twenty

Take out 20- 120 minutes of the day, and get away.

Over Drive

Make more time once you start to build sustainable momentum.

Invest in Yourself

Financially and physically now with a clear direction and purpose

Team Work

Knowledge is power so speed up the process together

Taking Time to Pause

Suggest to get away and figure your purpose. There must be an understanding that although we may not want to do something, because it's not something we enjoy or love doing, it must be done if it is a necessity of life.

OverDriven but not OverWorked

For our morning chores we woudl make sure to get in fit shape and mentally ready to start the task at hand. Started reading books like a club for Getting Things Done to get thigns done.

Invest in the Vote of Confidence

You must mentally shift your passion and be careful of being overly passionate. Read books and listen to the uplifting material to mentally stay ahead of the game and all else will follow.

Team Up and Work Together

Found many professionals and passionate people that are like-minded, read and watch the same, and feed off the momentum of positive returns.

You are only one person and you may also know that it is difficult to do these task as an individual, without a team.

Let's collaborate and help each other, ready to DO IT TO IT together?!?
