Prepare Your POP Experiment ! / by Jeff Anello

Creating habits that will create a better you
is a passion that we should aspire toward.

Through building your Passion Statement
How I learned how to engage with others

Especially in those stressful, scary even terrifying  moments just by:

  • Focusing on connecting rather than thinking

  • Building a better relationship with people

  • Providing confidence by being prepared

  • Not shy away and knowing what to say

I was able to mentally, not just physically, be there and make a connection, in that performance, presentation or party. Prepare for your next speech, interview moment, conversation and handshake with a confident and passionate smile!

Experimenting with The POP Presentation Process

This course was used for both of my TED Talks and Clockenflap performances. Which were both Hong Kong’s largest events with over 60, 000 people combined, with my indie band The Anello.

It was at the beginning of the bands start up. I mean like a few months into the new “band”. Remembering both experiences, on massive stages, with the mic in my hand and realising I should engage with our excited audience and just enjoy the moment.

While rocking out I looked up to enjoy that moment looking over the magnificent Hong Kong humans, scanning down across the crowd, and then suddenly I noticed more people watching me in the background.

I thought, let's engage with them too, get them involved, make eye contact, and when I looked back at the audience standing in front me and everyone was having a great time!

So there  I was….. still performing…..with the mic in my hand….. singing a song ( on key hopefully) but back in the moment, rocking out on stage, with all these awesome people. I’ll never know if anyone knew I had that moment. If they did, then I’m happy for that connection.

Each moment in time can be magnified

Once you’ve learned to live in that moment w

hen you communicate that all we are really truly ever looking for, its remarkable!

Oh….but what about *gulp* FEAR!?!?!?!

Fear is described as a  distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain and whether the threat is real or imagined. Being afraid is real but it exists only in the mind.

The fear is thinking about what’s going to happen next, of what does not yet exist. If you’re fear is about non-existing then your fear is 100% imaginary and imagination is a wonderful ability to have to use as an asset.

If you’re suffering non- existence

we call that insanity.

The US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health was doing a study about enhanced fear extinction  in major depressive disorder patients the brain is enhanced synaptic plasticity in the amygdala successful PROVIDE extinction learning, the basis of  exposure therapy.

Scientist Mark Barad of UCLA experiment he and his team combined a noise with an electric shock to the metal floor of the rat's' cage. At that point, their amygdalas paired the sound with the shock, and the sound created a fear response. The researchers then began the process of fear-extinction training. After hearing the sound very often without the shock,

Over time, Fear Habits Minimized

Eventually, the rats stopped fearing the noise.

Neuroplasticity is the brains’ responds to changes in internal and external environments. It's incredible flexibility for forming and eliminating connections.

This is the basis of learning and memory, i.e., how we store new information and retrieve older information."Fact extinction has its own special mechanisms, different than other forms of learning," Barad says.

This study is on the forefront of a cultural revolution to improve the treatment of human anxiety disorders.

Living in the reality of fear

is a tough place to live

It can almost get to a place where mentally it's not worth living this physical life.

Once we confront ourselves to change our life we can then focus on what needs to be done to make that change happen in our present.

I work with so many clients that say to me,

“Jeff, I start passion projects but then quickly lose interest”

“Jeff, there is just no extra money to invest in my passions”

“Jeff, even if I did find my true passion, I don’t have time to live it!”

If you are struggling to become a

fearless passion seeker

than these may be your problems.

“Yes, I know that Jeff, but it doesn’t matter, I won’t push myself to do it”
Each time I reply kindly, “Hey it’s ok, just make a choice A or B?”

A:   Make a Change OR B:   ...................?

Preparation and practice on social communication skills are the best cure for fear. It’s the cure to most public anxiety issues, to be honest, preparation for these social moments is something we all could have started preparing for a long, long time ago. It takes years to become an overnight success.

speed up your progress

presenting just by taking action

Many of my clients, had to discover their passion, understand it mentally and do it physically and if we failed at anything along the way so what…..if we succeed you get all the victory for achieving it because the trick is that if you fail,  you fail in practice with non judgemental eyes. You have only you to do that to yourself.

We are most often our harshest critics and with this process if you look bad, make a mistake, sound weird or awkward, it’s ok !!

Keep doing it - rinse - wash - repeat - and just do it again! Then do it again and again and then you will be a professional performer, presenter and social strategist very soon, or at least sooner than you think.

However, many people don't take action because life seems to get in the way or it’s too tough right now with all the responsibilities or I’m just too scared to fail or possibly succeed.

Are we are really so much afraid of what others are going to say or if they will judge you?

No, way. Let’s live passion today!

Would you like to join the FREE COURSE? I will be accepting 10 Students for The POP Experiment Course in December 2018.

 You can't begin to imagine

So many clients I've worked with that cannot answer this question.

So, I'd like to try and explain, just this one time, with what i think - in rhyme, I believe it is the singer in me that enjoys the melodic rhythm

Now, before we go any further, I must say that at no point in the mini-guide will I encourage you to quit your job, pursue only your dream, and focus on nothing else but passion.

I am just sharing my stories as I was so inclined to become that fool who was willing to make those mistakes, challenged - mocked - laughed at - even punched - and has been willing to fail so many times. I am here to say, through it all, everything is still, ok. I am still living today, by the grace of God, with an even bigger passion than just, living my dream of being a “Rock Star”

So instead of accepting my impending doom like an elephant who is chained to a pole stuck in the ground, who can easily break free. I decided instead to graduated from high school and university, got a job teaching theatre, performance and presentations and have inspired students; who has inspired others as well.
